Introduction

From every corner of the world, Scouts came together online and over radio waves for three unforgettable days of global friendship, fun, and learning. The Jamboree-on-the-Air and Jamboree-on-the-Internet (JOTA-JOTI) 2025, held from 17 to 19 October, gathered more than 650,000 Scouts and volunteers from 188 countries. Guided by the theme “A World Shaped by Youth,” the world’s largest digital Scouting event showcased creativity, teamwork, and digital citizenship through interactive games, workshops, and youth-led discussions connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Digital Adventures and Learning

Interactive chatrooms, group video calls, and a global Scout directory allowed young people to build friendships across borders. Activities included:

  • 🌱 Measuring environmental footprints – SDG 13 Climate Action
  • “Hot Potato” teamwork challenges testing quick thinking
  • 📣 “Influencer for a Day” promoting fairness, inclusion, and civic engagement

Through these sessions, Scouts discovered how technology can inspire empathy, service, and real-world community change.

🎬 Highlights from the Event

Global Opening Show

The JOTA-JOTI Live Show, streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, united the global movement in real time. Hosted by Riris from Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia, the broadcast drew 62,000 live viewers—the highest yet—and featured performances, games, and special guests celebrating Scouting’s worldwide impact.

Minecraft World Scouting Experience

The popular Minecraft server returned bigger than ever. More than 1,500 Scouts spent 1,600 hours exploring virtual nature trails, competing in digital triathlons, and building imaginative campsites—including a detailed recreation of the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) and the surrounding Swiss mountains.

🛠️ Behind the Scenes

Over 100 volunteers from around the world ensured that every participant enjoyed a safe and inclusive experience. They managed technology, moderated forums, and hosted sessions across multiple time zones.

Every Scout took the Safe JOTA-JOTI Pledge, reaffirming WOSM’s commitment to respectful and secure digital spaces.

“The event truly embodied Scouting’s spirit — connecting people, sharing cultures, and promoting peace through technology.”

🧭 Achievements and Community Impact

Using ScoutPass, participants tracked progress and earned digital badges celebrating leadership, innovation, and teamwork. Inspired by what they learned, Scouts are now applying those lessons in their local communities by:

  • Organising environmental clean-ups
  • Leading nature hikes and service projects
  • Hosting youth dialogues on digital citizenship

Participants have until 30 November 2025 to submit project reports and receive an official JOTA-JOTI Certificate of Recognition.

🚀 Innovation and Partnerships

The 2025 edition launched a new permanent brand for JOTA-JOTI and expanded its Ambassadors Programme, empowering National Scout Organizations to reach millions more youth.

Enhanced web and mobile systems—developed in partnership with Accenture—made participation smoother than ever. Support from SAP, FAO, Solafrica, Global Youth Mobilisation, and Kandersteg International Scout Centre enriched educational content and ensured a high-quality, inclusive experience.
